As I write this, we are enjoying the middle of a busy summer camp season, and I could not be more grateful. These past few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of preaching, counseling, and serving alongside others who love young people and believe in what God can do in their lives. It’s been a blur of travel, chapel services, conversations around picnic tables, and powerful moments of decision at the altar. And we are not done yet.
The McCurry family will be involved in 6+ weeks of camp ministry this summer. From the Midwest to Arizona, to where I am right now in Pennsylvania, we are endeavoring to invest in young people and watch God work.
I’ve always believed that youth camps are a fertile ground for spiritual growth. BTI’s founder, Dr. Paul Levin, spent over four decades involved in youth camps. He believed that if you give young people the Gospel, in an atmosphere where they can actually hear God’s voice, He will do the rest. I still believe that. And I’m watching it happen.
That’s why we go. That’s why we serve. And that’s why we’re not slowing down. Camp is not just a nostalgic tradition or a box to check on the summer calendar. It is one of the most significant investments we can make, not just for this year, but for eternity.
